One of the best excavation places for fossils of the white jura (Malm) is located on the plates of the Hohenmirsberger Platte, wich is the highest elevation of the Fränkischen Schweiz with 614 m.
2. The second excavation place is from the upper toarcium (Lias zeta) the clay pit Mistelgau located at Bayreuth/Oberfranken.
